Overview
As a Graduate Sales Executive at Softcat, you’ll join a fast-paced, collaborative sales team focused on helping organisations across the UK achieve their business goals through innovative IT solutions. Your role is centred on building strong customer relationships, identifying opportunities, and delivering tailored technology solutions from leading vendors such as Microsoft, Dell, Cisco, and HP.
Responsibilities
From day one, you’ll take ownership of developing new business by researching potential customers, initiating contact through cold calling, email outreach, and meetings, and building a pipeline of opportunities. You will manage the full sales cycle, from initial engagement through to closing deals and nurturing long-term client relationships. As your experience grows, your focus will shift towards account management — strengthening existing partnerships and expanding customer spend.
Learning & Development
You’ll be enrolled in Softcat’s structured Sales Development Programme, designed to accelerate your confidence, commercial awareness, and technical understanding. This includes a mix of classroom learning, on-the-job training, and mentorship from experienced colleagues, enabling you to quickly develop into a trusted advisor for your customers.
Performance
The role is highly target-driven, requiring motivation, resilience, and strong communication skills. You’ll work towards KPIs, build market knowledge, and collaborate with internal teams and external partners to deliver a seamless customer experience. Over time, you’ll develop entrepreneurial skills, effectively running your own “business within a business” and progressing into an Account Manager position.
