Overview
We’re partnering with a well-established, mid-sized retail business on the Essex/Hertfordshire border to appoint an experienced Interim Finance Director for an initial 3–6 month assignment.
This role requires a hands-on finance leader who is comfortable operating at both strategic and operational level. You’ll be leading the finance function, working closely with the C-suite, managing the transaction finance team, overseeing audit processes, and driving strong financial control across the business.
This is not a role for someone who wants to stay at a strategic level only – we need a genuine “doer” who is happy getting into the detail whilst leading the wider finance function.
Non-Negotiables
- Retail and/or stock-based business experience
- Immediately available or able to start at very short notice
- Able to work on-site 4 days per week
- Proven experience leading a full finance function in a mid-sized business environment (sub £250m revenue)
Responsibilities
- Lead the full finance function
- Partner closely with the C-suite and senior stakeholders
- Manage and support the transaction finance team
- Lead the audit process and maintain strong financial controls
- Oversee FP&A and provide commercial insight across the business
- Support operational and strategic decision making
- Support on systems implementations
