Overview

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Director to lead and oversee commercial operations across a major UK client engagement. This is a senior leadership role responsible for managing commercial governance, financial performance, and operational structure, while leading a distributed team across the UK and India.

This role offers the opportunity to shape and scale commercial frameworks within a growing account, with scope to expand as additional business is secured.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and manage the end‑to‑end commercial function for a large client engagement
  • Establish and optimise commercial structures, processes, and controls for transactions
  • Ensure contractual compliance and drive commercial best practice
  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance
  • Manage invoicing processes and ensure accuracy and timeliness
  • Provide commercial insight and reporting to senior stakeholders
  • Lead, develop, and manage a team of 10–16 professionals across the UK and India
  • Oversee a mix of vendor managers, budgeting analysts, invoicing specialists, and allocation resources
  • Drive high performance, accountability, and collaboration across geographies

Stakeholder Management

  • Act as the primary escalation point for commercial issues and conflict resolution
  • Work closely with Finance, Account, and Delivery teams to ensure alignment and successful execution
  • Report into the Delivery leadership team and provide regular updates on commercial performance

Change & Growth

  • Lead change management initiatives relating to commercial processes and structures
  • Adapt and evolve the commercial function as the scope of work grows and new contracts are onboarded

Key Requirements

  • Proven experience in a senior commercial or finance leadership role within IT services, telecoms, or outsourcing environments
  • Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, invoicing, and commercial governance
  • Excellent stakeholder management and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to operate in a fast‑paced, evolving environment
