Overview
We are partnering with a leading global management consulting organisation to appoint a Senior Manager-level Talent Partner on a 12-month fixed term contract.
This role sits within a highly regarded People function supporting multiple client-facing business groups. It operates at senior level, working directly with Partners and Directors to advise on workforce decisions, leadership capability, and performance outcomes across a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
The position requires an experienced HR Business Partner or Talent professional who is comfortable influencing senior stakeholders and shaping talent outcomes in a high-performance, commercially driven setting.
Key Responsibilities
Talent Advisory & Business Partnering
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders across multiple consulting practices
- Translate business priorities into practical, commercially relevant talent and people decisions
- Support consistency in how talent and promotion decisions are made across teams, while balancing differing business needs
- Provide clear, pragmatic advice on leadership, capability and organisational challenges
Workforce Planning & Capability
- Partner with senior stakeholders on workforce planning and capacity discussions, balancing demand, utilisation, and capability requirements
- Use data and insight to support forward-looking decisions on hiring, development, and succession
- Work closely with recruitment and analytics teams to ensure visibility of talent pipelines and future needs
Performance, Promotion & Development
- Lead and support senior performance and promotion cycles, ensuring robust, fair and well-governed outcomes
- Identify high-potential individuals and support leaders in building targeted development plans
- Coach managers on performance, progression, and leadership effectiveness, particularly in complex or sensitive cases
- Support succession planning and leadership pipeline reviews across multiple business groups
- Contribute to continuous improvement of talent processes to ensure they remain effective in a fast-moving environment
- Maintain strong governance and documentation standards for senior talent decisions
Stakeholder Management
- Build strong, credible relationships with senior stakeholders operating in a demanding, high-performance environment
- Manage competing priorities across business groups and help drive alignment where needed
- Confidently handle sensitive or complex people matters with discretion and sound judgement
Candidate Profile
- Experienced HR Business Partner / Talent Partner from a complex, matrixed organisation
- Background in professional services, consulting, or similarly fast-paced, client-facing environment strongly preferred
- Strong capability in workforce planning, talent development, and performance management cycles
- Analytical and commercially minded, with the ability to use data to inform decisions
- Strong communicator with the ability to influence, challenge, and build trusted relationships
- Able to operate effectively in ambiguous, high-pressure environments with competing priorities
