About the Role
As a Fleet Public Health Officer, you’ll step into a truly unique role at sea; one that blends professional leadership with global exploration. You’ll be at the forefront of safeguarding public health, safety, and environmental excellence across our entire fleet, shaping standards that impact thousands of guests and crew every day.
In this dynamic and fast‑moving position no two days look alike. One moment you may be collaborating with shipboard teams to navigate emerging viruses: the next, you’re stepping ashore in an exotic destination, meeting new people, and experiencing cultures from around the world.
Working closely with shipboard Public Health Officers and shoreside leaders, you’ll drive consistent, high‑quality public health practices across all vessels; ensuring our ships remain safe, compliant, and environmentally responsible in every region we operate. Responsibilities
- Leading and supporting fleet‑wide public health operations and standards
- Conducting and overseeing audits, inspections, and compliance activities
- Developing and implementing policies, procedures, and best practice frameworks
- Supporting the recruitment, training, and performance development of Public Health Officers
- Providing expert guidance during operational incidents and public health challenges
- Strengthening capability by building knowledge and expertise across onboard teams
Qualifications
- Degree in Public Health, Environmental Health, Biological Sciences, or a related discipline
- Proven professional experience in public or environmental health, ideally including compliance, audit, or programme delivery
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work across diverse, multicultural teams
- Knowledge of infection prevention and control and vessel sanitation standards
- Experience implementing or overseeing public health programmes
- A structured, calm, and solutions‑focused approach to problem‑solving
- Shipboard or maritime experience is desirable but not essential
