Position: Specialist Rotational Dietitian (Band 6) – 1.0 WTE, part‑time (30 hours per week) on a fixed 40‑month contract for the duration of the PhD.
Location: QMC Campus, Town, Nottingham.
Salary: £39,959 – £48,117 per annum (pro‑rata for part‑time).

This role supports the delivery of care across multiple inpatient settings, particularly critical care, with an emphasis on complex nutritional interventions, enteral feeding and nutritional support. Rotations currently include Stroke, Head & Neck, Health Care for the Older Person and Critical Care, with potential expansion.
The successful candidate will promote and contribute to service improvement, audit, and development work to enhance nutritional care.

Responsibilities
- Support delivery of care to patients across inpatient settings, including critical care.
- Implement and manage complex nutritional interventions and enteral feeding.
- Engage in service improvement, audit and development initiatives.
- Communicate effectively with patients, carers and multidisciplinary teams.
- Lead and collaborate within the dietetic service, supporting staff and student dietitians.
Person specification
Qualifications
- Qualified Dietitian (4‑year degree, post‑graduate diploma or equivalent).
- HCPC registered.
- Evidence of continuing professional development.
- Relevant validated course.
- Member of BDA including specialist groups.
Experience
- Experience as a dietitian in nutritional support.
- Ability to apply specialist knowledge in relevant areas.
- Experience in relevant specialist areas.
Analytical and judgement
- Able to interpret complex information to make decisions.
Communication
- Excellent verbal, non‑verbal and written communication, including explanation, negotiation, motivation and training.
- Ability to work as an integral member of dietetic and multi‑professional teams, building relationships with patients/carers and staff.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information and respond to distressed or anxious individuals.
- Capability to overcome communication difficulties, including language barriers, and adapt approach to varying situations.
Planning and organisation skills
- Plan and organise own workload, including daily tasks and longer‑term strategic planning, despite interruptions and changing priorities.
- Plan and organise the work of allocated student dietitians.
Physical skills
- Carry out anthropometric measurements accurately using relevant equipment.
- Use a computer keyboard and relevant computer programmes.
