Professional Support Lawyer (Solicitor) – Employment

Location: Gordon House Office

Hours: Full-time, 36.25 hours per week

The Role

If you are an experienced employment lawyer who enjoys the technical side of the role but is looking for something more strategic, collaborative and sustainable, this could be the right next step. Join our award-winning Public Sector Employment team as a Professional Support Lawyer, where you will shape best practice, support complex work, and help drive quality across the team, without the pressure of a traditional fee-earning caseload.

What you will be doing

  • Keeping our Employment team ahead of the curve on employment law updates.
  • Support Advisors with expert legal knowledge, guidance and resources.
  • Contribute to complex matters and help shape case strategy.
  • Create insightful content for clients, marketing and the website.
  • Deliver training and share best practice across the firm.
  • Help drive business development, thought leadership and profile-raising activity.
  • Maintain excellent client care, compliance and professional standards.

About You

We are looking for people that can demonstrate the following:

Essential

  • Be a qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive, (or equivalent), with at least 4 years PQE.
  • Previous experience of working within an employment team.
  • Ability to deliver presentations and training sessions to clients and third parties.
  • Previous experience working with a range of employment matters, such as, Unfair dismissal, Discrimination, TUPE and Redundancy.
  • Demonstrates excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Previous experience in managing a busy caseload and meeting deadlines while contributing effectively within a team.
  • Aligns with the Firm’s values.

Desirable

  • Previous experience working with clients within the Education, Housing and Local Authority sectors.
  • Previous experience working as a Professional Support Lawyer within Employment.
