Hybrid Working

We believe that collaboration and connection with our colleagues can achieve great things. Our hybrid approach allows people to work both in the office and at home, providing flexibility and resources to succeed. We don’t require specific days; we ask staff to come to the office 2–3 days each week, for at least 8 days per month. You will work with your line manager to understand expectations for your role and team.

What you’ll do

  • Establish an architecture roadmap setting the direction for the next few years to steer planned technical upgrades, capacity uplifts, system rationalisation and decommissioning through functional convergence.
  • Ensure compliance with target architecture and principles by leading assurance activities across the delivery lifecycle, including reviewing solution designs, presenting at governance forums (e.g. SBD, ARB, Digital Architecture Design Authority) and addressing feedback to secure sign‑off.
  • Maintain systems and platforms so they meet business SLAs, performance goals and Vodafone security guidelines.
  • Ensure systems and platforms meet agreed non‑functional requirements, including performance, resilience, security and operability.
  • Act as the technical and functional point of contact for web applications and CMS domains, supporting major releases and incidents and providing direction to solution architects, developers and other technical staff.
  • Support cross‑functional teams to deliver high quality software through clear definitions of success, building trust and empowering them with the right skills to be autonomous.
  • Be an active member of Architecture & Web Development Guilds, sharing best practices, encouraging collaboration, coaching colleagues and maintaining relationships with wider UK and Group technology leads.

Who you are

  • Understanding of fundamentals of web technologies such as HTTP, HTML, JavaScript and CSS.
  • Demonstrable experience designing and integrating enterprise‑scale CMS architectures.
  • Knowledge of SOLID OO design principles and ability to apply them to solution design.
  • Experience designing technology and application architecture for enterprise‑scale web applications, including Microservices and Micro Frontends.
  • Experience with cloud solutions and containerised web application design.
  • Good understanding of the OWASP top 10 and common patterns to protect against those vulnerabilities.
  • Deep knowledge of web infrastructure topics, including CDNs, WAFs, DNS, SSL and TLS.
  • Hands‑on experience designing, consuming and governing RESTful APIs.

We care about our people’s success by offering excellent pay, bonuses, up to 28 days off plus bank holidays, and paid time for charity work. You can personalise our benefits, such as discounts, vouchers, a pension plan and more. We support career growth through learning tools and generous parental leave policies.
