Workshop Plant Engineer

Position: Workshop Plant EngineerLocation: DartfordSalary: £24.40 per hour + Overtime AvailableJoin a busy workshop supporting essential equipment for construction and maintenance operations. You’ll be part of a skilled engineering team focused on safety, quality and keeping plant running efficiently.

Overview

• Service, repair and maintain heavy plant, machinery and small tools
• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance
• Diagnose faults, source parts and complete effective repairs
• Work independently or within a team
• Complete all maintenance paperwork accurately
• Follow all health & safety procedures and challenge unsafe practices
• Support general workshop tasks and maintain a clean work area

Requirements

• Essential: Heavy plant experience (mechanical, electrical & hydraulic)
• Diagnostic skills (fault finding & repair)
• Mig welding/fabrication ability
• Strong communication & teamwork
• Self‑motivated with good attention to detail
• Able to work under pressure
• Full UK driving licence

Desirable

• CSCS Card
• City & Guilds (Levels 1-3)
• Experience with cranes or white‑lining equipment
