Senior Data Architect – Responsibilities
- Lead the design of scalable, resilient, and high-performance data architectures that meet strategic business objectives.
- Document and communicate architecture roadmaps and designs to business and technical audiences.
- Provide solution design leadership to engineering teams and maintain accountability across data architectures in multiple domains.
- Establish and maintain a library of reusable functional component models for Global Payments product lines.
- Build highly scalable services in hybrid cloud environments, leveraging modern design patterns including event-driven system design.
- Standardise architecture documentation and apply technology governance around platform architectural patterns.
- Explore new business domains and provide architectural oversight to impact existing platform capabilities.
- Support audit and compliance requirements such as encryption, security, and data retention.
- Design system solutions and governance across the data architecture landscape, and build solutions across the acquiring domain to handle real-time data processing, data localisation legislation, and large-scale data processing.
- Work as part of a team of system architects defining platform architecture across multiple domains within an acquiring landscape with global scope, building end-to-end solutions and architectural patterns to ensure the platform can perform at scale.
Senior Data Architect – Qualifications
- Proven experience as a data architect with a track record of designing and implementing complex data architecture solutions in enterprise environments.
- Expertise in data modelling, database design and data warehousing concepts.
- Proficiency in relational and NoSQL databases.
- Experience with data governance and data quality management.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders and drive consensus.
- Proven leadership abilities.
- Expertise with end-to-end systems development life cycles and a background leading large projects.
- A bachelor’s degree in computer science or engineering, or equivalent experience – post-graduate education desired.
