Job Description:

Senior Data Architect – Responsibilities

  • Lead the design of scalable, resilient, and high-performance data architectures that meet strategic business objectives.
  • Document and communicate architecture roadmaps and designs to business and technical audiences.
  • Provide solution design leadership to engineering teams and maintain accountability across data architectures in multiple domains.
  • Establish and maintain a library of reusable functional component models for Global Payments product lines.
  • Build highly scalable services in hybrid cloud environments, leveraging modern design patterns including event-driven system design.
  • Standardise architecture documentation and apply technology governance around platform architectural patterns.
  • Explore new business domains and provide architectural oversight to impact existing platform capabilities.
  • Support audit and compliance requirements such as encryption, security, and data retention.
  • Design system solutions and governance across the data architecture landscape, and build solutions across the acquiring domain to handle real-time data processing, data localisation legislation, and large-scale data processing.
  • Work as part of a team of system architects defining platform architecture across multiple domains within an acquiring landscape with global scope, building end-to-end solutions and architectural patterns to ensure the platform can perform at scale.

Senior Data Architect – Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a data architect with a track record of designing and implementing complex data architecture solutions in enterprise environments.
  • Expertise in data modelling, database design and data warehousing concepts.
  • Proficiency in relational and NoSQL databases.
  • Experience with data governance and data quality management.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders and drive consensus.
  • Proven leadership abilities.
  • Expertise with end-to-end systems development life cycles and a background leading large projects.
  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science or engineering, or equivalent experience – post-graduate education desired.
