Location

Our office locations for this role are Belfast or Derry/Londonderry. You will work across assurance, consulting, law, strategy, tax and transactions.

The Team and the Opportunity

Our data and analytics team focuses on helping our clients unlock value from their information assets by embedding innovative data analytics solutions in existing business areas. You will work with data science, analytics, engineering and architecture teams and will contribute to the growth of the Data & Analytics team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead diverse teams with varying skillsets, who use different Data and Analytics technologies.
  • Lead end‑to‑end project delivery for data and analytics initiatives, ensuring alignment with business objectives and timelines.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans that outline scope, objectives, timelines, and resource allocation, ensuring successful execution and delivery.
  • Oversee project budgets, ensuring effective allocation of resources and adherence to financial constraints.
  • Adapt your leadership style to fit team, client and cultural needs, and anticipate and identify risks and escalating issues as needed.
  • Engage with key stakeholders across client organisations to understand data needs, communicate project progress and align with strategic goals.
  • Create a positive learning culture, coaching and counselling junior team members to develop.
  • Work in multi‑disciplinary teams across a range of industries to transform and improve clients’ businesses through analytics.
  • Apply your knowledge and experience to create innovative insights that add value to clients and society.
  • Champion operational efficiency improvements on projects and internal initiatives, consistently driving projects to completion and ensuring high quality work.
  • Contribute to the wider Data & Analytics team’s future by building brand, attending relevant events, collaborating with internal teams, and producing thought leadership.
  • Establish, strengthen internal and external relationships and, with guidance from partners and senior managers, identify potential business opportunities for EY to incubate new solutions and services.

Qualifications

  • Completed degree (Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD).
  • Proven experience as a Data Analytics professional or in a similar consulting role with focus on project delivery and management.
  • Experience leading cross‑functional teams and managing complex projects.
  • Ability to supervise and develop others, effectively communicate, manage client expectations and deliver quality projects on time.
  • Strong technical communication skills – able to explain technical information to non‑technical colleagues and clients.
  • Analytically minded with ability to assimilate and apply new techniques and knowledge to deliver insights and solve problems.
  • Professional experience in a diverse, evolving, and dynamic client environment.
  • Working knowledge of key analytics tools such as:
    • Reporting and visualisation – PowerBI, Tableau, Qlik.
    • Programming – SQL, Python, R.
    • Cloud computing – Azure, AWS, GCP.
  • Experience with any aspects of the data analytics lifecycle, for example:
    • Data Strategy.
    • Data Manipulation and ETL.
    • Data Analysis & Visualization.
    • Applying machine learning, statistical analysis and other advanced analytics techniques to key business issues.
  • Relevant experience in Agile Delivery.
