Responsibilities
- Carry out maintenance, service and repair work on SFT separation equipment at customer sites.
- Ensure timely and efficient completion of all site service tasks, keeping customers informed throughout the process.
- Prepare thoroughly for all site visits by ensuring all necessary parts, tools, and equipment are available and in good working condition.
- Use correct working methods and ensure all special tooling is safe, clean and operational.
- Clearly communicate with customers, particularly when issues arise that may affect costs, performance or the operational life of their equipment.
- Support workshop operations by assisting with service and repair tasks when required.
- Maintain clean and tidy working areas, both on-site and in the workshop, upon completion of tasks.
- Ensure proper disposal of waste in line with customer and company guidelines.
- Act professionally, courteously and in a business‑like manner at all times, representing the company and delivering exceptional customer service.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with customers and promote the company and its values in every interaction.
- Complete all required reports accurately and promptly, in line with company procedures and communicate daily movements clearly to the Service Coordinator.
- Report any damage to tools, equipment or vehicles in a timely manner.
- Take responsibility for the care and maintenance of company‑supplied equipment, including the service vehicle.
- Ensure all equipment and vehicles are maintained according to manufacturer and lease company guidelines.
- Be available for necessary overtime to meet customer timeframes and for weekends as required.
- Attend and contribute to regular engineering team meetings and remain flexible and adaptable to support a dynamic and fast‑paced working environment.
Qualifications
- Qualified to a minimum City & Guilds standard in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
- Strong mechanical knowledge; electrical knowledge is a distinct advantage.
- Solid understanding of health and safety practices in the workplace.
- Background in technical or process engineering.
- Ability to work carefully, methodically and safely, both independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel.
- Capable of working to tight deadlines while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proactive and flexible team player with confidence and discipline to work independently on‑site and in workshop.
- Comfortable in a fast‑paced, changing environment, with the ability to adapt quickly to new challenges.
- Competent in the safe operation of heavy equipment and knowledge of basic lifting and slinging techniques.
- Physically capable and experienced in meeting the demands of a hands‑on, physically demanding role.
- Must have the legal right to work in the UK (no visa sponsorship offered).
