Freelance Health & Safety Manager – Data Centre Fit‑Out

Location: Hemel Hempstead

Contract: 24 Months

Start: ASAP

Working Pattern: Site‑based, 5 days per week

We are currently seeking a Freelance Health & Safety Manager to join a major data centre fit‑out project in Hemel Hempstead. This is a long‑term opportunity working with a leading Main Contractor on a high‑profile scheme approaching its final delivery phase.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all on‑site health & safety operations during the fit‑out stage
• Ensure full compliance with HSE regulations and company standards
• Conduct site inspections, audits, and risk assessments
• Drive a proactive safety culture across all trades and subcontractors
• Lead toolbox talks, inductions, and incident investigations
• Work closely with the project team to support a safe, efficient project completion

Requirements

• Proven experience as an H&S Manager on large‑scale construction or data centre projects
• Strong knowledge of UK HSE legislation
• Relevant qualifications (NEBOSH Certificate/Diploma or equivalent)
• Confident communicator with the ability to influence site teams
• Main contractor experience preferred
