Group Head of Financial Planning and Analysis

Our client is looking for a Group Head of FP&A to join a growing, market‑leading PE backed multi‑site business. This is a newly created role, offering a rare opportunity to build and shape the FP&A function from the ground up within a dynamic and expanding organisation.

The Role

• Lead the creation and development of the FP&A function, implementing best‑in‑class processes, systems, and reporting
• Overview of monthly management accounts, including group consolidations
• Own budgeting and forecasting cycles, building detailed and robust financial models
• Deliver financial performance analysis, including insightful variance reporting
• Provide commercial insight, scenario analysis, and decision support to senior stakeholders
• Partner closely with leadership across operations and finance
• Build, lead, and develop a high‑performing FP&A team
• Review balance sheet reconciliations and VAT processes
• Support year‑end audit and manage external auditor relationships
• Drive automation and continuous improvement across financial systems and processes

The Requirements

• Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA)
• Strong experience in FP&A, management accounts, budgeting, and forecasting
• Proven track record of setting up or significantly enhancing FP&A functions, including systems and process automation
• Strong financial modelling and Excel skills
• Experience leading or mentoring teams
• Commercial mindset with the ability to influence senior stakeholders
• Proactive, hands‑on, and comfortable operating in a build environment
