Fixed Term, Full Time

£27,456 to £32,301 per annum

Location: Chelmsford

The Circular Economy Officer will support delivery of communications campaigns to engage Essex residents across a range of sustainability topics. The officer will be responsible for creating engaging and creative content for a range of communication channels in line with corporate and campaign branding guidelines. The officer will be responsible for monitoring the effectiveness and impact of the campaigns and communications and will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders and partners on a number of projects.

The Circular Economy Officer will also be responsible for ensuring that customer enquiries, information requests and transactions are managed to a high quality and within agreed timescales.

Accountabilities

  • Collaborate with colleagues and partners to support delivery of communications on a range of sustainability topics.
  • Undertake research and share findings, in written and oral formats, to help the service keep abreast of latest developments and best practice within the sector and in communications.
  • Responsible for creating and deploying content across a range of communication channels such as social media, newsletters, websites.
  • Responsible for creating and maintaining communications plans across a range of communication channels and sustainability topics.
  • Responsible for monitoring the performance and impact of communications and project outcomes and sharing learning with colleagues.
  • Manage responses to customer enquiries and transaction requests in a timely way.
  • Support delivery of engagement events with residents, face to face and online.
  • Specific individual and shared targets and objectives are defined annually within the performance management framework.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Educated to A level or equivalent by experience.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development and expert knowledge in communications, research and data analysis.
  • Advanced skills in written and oral communication. Confident in engaging with a broad variety of stakeholders at different levels via a range of channels.
  • Microsoft Outlook, TEAMS, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint knowledge and experience of using at an intermediate level. Understanding of other relevant software applications e.g. image or video editing or mapping software.
  • Competent user of social media channels (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn) and scheduling platforms (e.g. Hootsuite). Experience of website editing using a content management system.
  • Experience of working with brand guidelines when creating communications materials. Knowledge of report writing and delivery.
  • Understands how to plan events, including engaging stakeholders, organising venues and liaising with attendees on the day.
  • Experience in use of data management systems and analysis including analysing data from social media channels and Google Analytics.
