Job Summary

Assistant Manager – Debt, Capital & Treasury Advisory (Infrastructure Focus)

About the Team

The Debt, Capital & Treasury Advisory team is an integral part of Deloitte’s Financial Advisory practice, providing independent advice and execution across the full spectrum of debt markets.

Responsibilities

  • Work on a range of debt advisory projects, interacting regularly with clients, banks, private credit funds, lawyers, advisors, and other service lines.
  • Assist with day‑to‑day management of transaction processes, including the preparation of information packs, management presentations, financial analysis, and client communications.
  • Conduct industry and company research for deal origination and transaction analysis.
  • Build and maintain financial models: analyze business forecasts, construct cash‑flow forecasts, perform scenario analysis, and calculate covenant metrics.
  • Negotiate commercial terms related to debt structuring within a term sheet.
  • Contribute to marketing and business development activities.
  • Build a network across the various parties involved in transactions (e.g., infrastructure funds, banks, private credit funds, lawyers, advisors, and Deloitte service lines) to maintain a broad perspective of debt‑market trends.

Qualifications

  • ACA qualification or equivalent.
  • Excellent numeracy skills with a high focus on detail and the ability to absorb and analyze large amounts of data quickly.
  • Experience building, operating, or reviewing financial models used for forecasting transaction cash flows and assessing debt covenants or threshold investment returns.
  • Strong interest in the infrastructure industry and underlying sectors such as energy, energy transition, transport, or social infrastructure.
  • Commitment to delivering exceptional client service with the ability to work quickly and establish effective relationships.
  • Perfect fluency in oral and written English.
  • Sound commercial acumen and understanding of UK financial markets and debt‑related products.
  • Logical and methodical problem‑solving approach.
  • Proven project‑management and organisational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple transactions and workstreams simultaneously, prioritising and multi‑tasking effectively.
  • Ability to undertake detailed financial and commercial analysis for inclusion in presentations and client reports.
  • Confidence in engaging business‑development activities and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Capability to develop, coach, and motivate junior team members.

Location & Working Arrangements

Based in London with hybrid working arrangements that allow a mix of office, virtual collaboration, client sites, and remote work.
