Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30 am – 5:00 pm

The Role

DARA People are recruiting an experienced Earthworks Site Manager to lead a large bulk earthworks project near Ely, Cambridgeshire. This is a Number 1 Site Manager position, suited to someone with strong earthworks, civils, and site leadership experience. You will manage day‑to‑day site operations, coordinate labour and plant, maintain health and safety standards, and keep the project moving efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Take full control of daily site operations on a bulk earthworks project
• Manage site teams, subcontractors, labour and plant
• Coordinate muck shifting, earthmoving and associated civils works
• Ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently and to programme
• Manage site logistics, access, traffic management and deliveries
• Maintain high standards of health, safety and site organisation
• Hold daily briefings, toolbox talks and site meetings
• Liaise with the client, project team and senior management
• Monitor progress and report any issues or delays
• Ensure all works are carried out in line with site procedures and regulations

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Site Manager on earthworks, civils or groundworks projects
• Strong bulk earthworks experience
• SMSTS certification
• Valid CSCS card
• First Aid at Work
• Proven ability to run a site as the Number 1 Site Manager
• Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills
• Good understanding of health and safety, RAMS and site compliance
• Ability to coordinate labour, plant and subcontractors effectively
