Bioresources Technician – Water RecyclingSalary: Starting at £36,920 + 15% shift allowanceLocation: Milton KeynesContract: Full Time / PermanentShift based : 12 hour working day , working every other weekend , 7 days worked over 14 on a week rota basis.Water Recycling is at the heart of our operationsOur Water Recycling team plays a vital role in protecting the environment and public health. Through our highly skilled in‑house workforce, we collect and treat wastewater before safely returning it to rivers and coastal outlets.Our extensive network includes 76,000 kilometres of sewers and over 1,000 water recycling centres, making what we do critical to everyday life.Your RoleAs a Bioresources Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring Water Recycling treatment processes and systems are serviced and maintained so they operate effectively, efficiently, and in full compliance with regulatory standards such as Health & Safety, HACCP and environmental compliance.You’ll work hands‑on across our sites, supporting safe operations, maintaining critical equipment, and helping to keep our assets performing at their best.Key DutiesImplementing and tracking actions from Compliance Action PlansInvestigating problems and promoting corrective actions within your level of competenceCarrying out basic mechanical maintenance and supporting condition‑based asset monitoringMonitoring contractor performance while remedial work is carried out on wastewater assetsInspecting safety‑critical equipment including legionella testing, gas, electricity and emergency lightingMaintaining clear communication across the site team regarding operations and activitiesProducing accurate reports on asset condition and site complianceWhat’s in it for you?Salary of up to £43,686 as your skills progressCompetitive pension scheme – Anglian Water double‑matches contributions up to 7% (21% total)Private Healthcare at no cost to youVirtual GP for your householdLife cover – 8x annual salary25 days holiday, rising with serviceBonus schemePlus many more benefits designed to support your wellbeing and careerAbout YouBackground & ExperienceExperience working in an operational or technical environmentA solid understanding of Health & Safety in the workplaceComfortable working both independently and as part of a teamConfident communicator, able to liaise with different teams and contractorsProactive, flexible, and willing to adapt to changing site prioritiesTechnical & Personal SkillsHands‑on, practical approach with basic mechanical skillsAbility to use Microsoft Outlook, Teams and database systems (training provided on internal systems)Willingness to learn, take initiative and continuously improveMust be able to work in confined spaces and at heightDue to harness weight limits, maximum weight must not exceed 113kgOccupational Health checks will be requiredFull UK Manual Driving Licence essentialInclusion at Anglian WaterJoin us and make a difference.
