About The Role

Residence Life Coordinator

We are seeking a new Residence Life Coordinator as part of the University’s welfare service for students, working Monday to Friday. This full‑time post is available immediately on a permanent basis. The role is rewarding with lots of variety. The start date will be agreed with the successful candidate to suit their availability.

The starting salary will be from £28,031 on Grade D, depending on knowledge, skills and experience. Please note this role is subject to a DBS check. Summary of the Role

The Residence Life Coordinator will provide support and guidance to the team of student Residence Life Mentors, forming part of the University’s Wellbeing Service. The Residence Life Team is responsible for promoting a positive student living experience within university residences to include the pastoral, behavioural and welfare care of approximately 6,900 students in both University and nominated third‑party student accommodation. The accommodation is made up of a combination of catered and self‑catered halls located both on and off the University’s two Exeter campuses.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Residence Life Officers and student Residence Life Mentors in caring for students in their accommodation.
  • Create and deliver a programme of events designed to build community on the campuses.
  • Promote events and wellbeing messaging on social media.
  • Provide pastoral, behavioural, and welfare support for students in university and third‑party accommodation.
  • Balance reactive and planned workload demands while working both as part of a team and independently.

Qualifications

  • Understanding of the student experience and issues related to student residences.
  • Compassionate, committed and resilient individual.
  • Ability to work flexibly, both as part of a team and independently.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Relevant prior experience and skills (not listed specifically).
  • Meeting DBS check requirements.
