Role
As a teacher in an alternative provision setting, you will be responsible for delivering a personalised and supportive learning experience to students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to students with SEMH needs
- Foster a safe, structured, and inclusive classroom environment
- Implement strategies to support behaviour, emotional regulation, and social development
- Work collaboratively with support staff, leadership teams, and external professionals
- Monitor and assess student progress, adapting teaching approaches to meet individual needs
Qualifications and Experience
- Qualified teacher with a QTS qualification or equivalent
- Experience teaching students with SEMH, complex needs, or SEND
- Knowledge and experience of managing behaviours that challenge
- Calm, patient, and resilient approach to teaching and classroom management
- Reliable, flexible, and available for daily emergency cover as well as long-term assignments
