Our Tesco Colleague rate of pay starts from £13.28 an hour; this increases to £14.55 for stores within the M25.
We typically offer a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours per week. If you would like to work fewer hours (a minimum of 12), we welcome you to apply.
Availability: You should be able to work during the following windows: Sunday 06:00–14:00, Monday 18:00–23:00, Friday 18:00–23:00. You will receive three weeks’ notice of your shifts and we can accommodate flexibility when your availability aligns with our needs.
Responsibilities
- Serve shoppers, welcoming, greeting and helping them find products.
- Provide friendly, knowledgeable service in all areas of the store.
- Work across the service, picking and replenishment areas as required.
- Implement training and procedures to ensure safety, efficiency and excellent customer service.
- Make decisions that best serve customers and maintain stock quality.
- Participate in seasonal, community and charity events to create an inclusive atmosphere.
- Track store performance, collaborate to improve service, sales, reduce waste and shrinkage, and deliver profit.
- Handle product deliveries and ensure proper handling for quality.
- Represent Tesco values, welcoming everyone and following policies.
- Accept deliveries into the store if required.
- Greet customers with a smile and build rapport to ensure a great shopping experience.
- Make independent decisions that benefit customers.
- Communicate effectively within the team and build teamwork.
- Maintain punctuality, good presentation and act as a brand ambassador.
Eligibility
You must be over 18 years old. Ages below the school leaver’s age are not eligible for this role. The position may close early if we receive many applicants, and individual feedback is available only for interviewees.
