Maintenance Operative

AASC – East of England

Full time – 37.5 hours per week.

Salary – £27,500 – £33,500 depending on experience & skills, plus Serco benefits.

Full UK driving licence must be held. Vehicle and tools provided.

As the Maintenance Operative you will ensure all requested repairs, whether reactive or proactive and pre‑planned, are carried out to the required standard and within our SLA deadlines.

This role covers Wigan and requires prior maintenance experience in joinery, fitting, plumbing, painting & decorating, etc. You will be a highly motivated individual who can manage your own workflow and work within a team when necessary.

You will be responsible for the health & safety of yourself and all users of the property during and after works have been undertaken and completed.

Part of your role, you will purchase and manage materials using a company account card from approved Serco suppliers only. Vehicles provided by the company will be inspected regularly and kept in a professional and clean condition.

Working Pattern

  • Mon to Fri 7.5 hours per day, 08:00–18:00 to meet operational needs.

On‑Call Requirements & Out of Hours Working

  • Duty an out‑of‑hours on‑call rotation, once every 8–10 weeks.

Requirements for the Job

Willingness and ability to travel within the region and occasionally throughout the UK.

Valid UK driving licence required.
