Job Description:
The School Nurse in Nottingham is responsible for promoting and maintaining the health and well-being of our students. The School Nurse will collaborate with students, parents, teachers, and other school personnel to provide quality healthcare services, ensure a safe school environment, and promote health education. This role plays a vital part in our commitment to fostering a healthy and thriving learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Health Assessment: Conduct health assessments to identify and manage health issues affecting students.
Healthcare Services: Provide basic healthcare services, such as first aid, medication administration, and wound care as needed.
Health Education: Educate students on a variety of health topics, including nutrition, hygiene, mental health, and wellness.
Emergency Response: Be prepared to respond to medical emergencies and administer appropriate care.
Collaboration: Collaborate with teachers, parents, and healthcare professionals to support students with chronic illnesses and other health concerns.
Health Records: Maintain accurate and confidential health records for all students.
Health Promotion: Develop and implement health promotion programs and initiatives within the school community.
Crisis Management: Assist in developing and executing crisis management plans, particularly during public health emergencies.
Parent and Staff Training: Offer training and workshops for parents, teachers, and staff members on health-related topics.
Qualifications:
- Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid license in the United Kingdom.
- Previous experience in pediatric nursing or school nursing is preferred.
- Current CPR and first aid certifications.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of health regulations and protocols in a school setting.
- Compassion, empathy, and a strong commitment to student well-being.
