Position Overview
An exciting opportunity to join our strong and innovative in‑patient tertiary speech and language therapy neuro‑rehabilitation team.
We are looking for a proactive person with a commitment to learning and excellent interpersonal skills. Experience working with individuals who have an acquired brain injury is an advantage, but we welcome applicants with relevant transferable skills.
Key Information
Hours: 34 hours per week (0.91 full‑time equivalent).Team Composition: Band 6, 7 and 8a staff, and B4 rehab coaches.
Responsibilities & Support
The role will focus on developing specialist skills to deliver effective person‑centred care to patients. You will work closely with the SLT team and the wider multidisciplinary team. Training and support will be provided to facilitate skill development and continuing professional development is encouraged. Formal training in the Sensory Modality Assessment and Rehabilitation Technique (SMART) for Prolonged Disorders of Consciousness is not anticipated for this role, although informal approaches to assessment will be supported.
Preferred Qualifications & Attributes
- Previous experience with acquired brain injury (advantageous).
- Strong ethos of clinical and professional support, including in‑service training and peer support.
- Values of kindness, respect, trust, integrity and personal responsibility.
- Desirable to speak Welsh; Welsh or English speakers are equally welcome.
