Job Title: SEMH Teacher

Location: Leeds, West Yorkshire

Start Date: ASAP

Contract Type: Full-time, Long-term

Rate: £140 – £220 per day (dependent on experience and responsibilities)

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 4:00pm

As an SEMH Teacher, you will join a dedicated team focused on delivering high-quality, child‑centred education tailored to each learner’s needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver SEMH-focused teaching and provide high‑quality, personalised lessons that support pupils with complex needs.
  • Plan and differentiate learning, creating engaging, therapeutic lessons aligned with EHCP outcomes and developmental milestones.
  • Collaborate with the wider team, including the SENCO, pastoral staff, therapists, and parents/carers, to ensure a consistent, holistic approach.
  • Support emotional and social development by promoting resilience, self‑regulation, and positive relationships through a calm, restorative approach.

What We’re Looking For

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experience in SEMH, PRU, alternative provision, or strong SEN/behaviour experience in mainstream.
  • Calm and resilient practice; ability to remain consistent, empathetic, and supportive in challenging situations.
  • Passion for inclusive education and commitment to ensuring every child makes progress, no matter their starting point.
  • Adaptable teaching methods; skilled in delivering personalised learning that meets diverse emotional and academic needs.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Hold Right to Work in the UK.
  • Hold an enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for one.
  • Provide two child‑related references.
