Hgv Class 2 Driver

The Recruitment Crowd are currently recruiting on behalf of our well‑known and industry‑leading client based in the Birmingham area. We are looking for multiple HGV Class 2 Drivers (CAT C) to join the team.

Induction / assessment is required for this role prior to starting – 6 am for induction.

Hours: Monday to Friday, 06:30 am

Pay Rate: £18.19 per hour PAYE

Location: Birmingham, B6 7AX

Job Type: Ongoing with an opportunity for permanent for the right candidate.

The Role

• Double‑manned.
• Multi‑drop delivering alcohol to bars / restaurants within the local area.
• Around 10‑15 drops per day.
• Ensure customer orders are secured and packaged correctly for delivery prior to departure.
• Inform the customer of any order delays, stock shortages or problems.
• Assist with the unloading of customer orders from the vehicle to the customer premises.
• Collect empty kegs / pallets and returns – when back at the depot ensure they are handled and stored correctly within the warehouse or yard.
• Complete all paperwork / EPOD tasks and any administration tasks; liaise with Transport Management regarding vehicle issues / delays.

Requirements

• Full UK driving licence with Class 2 entitlement (category C).
• 1 year experience on Class 2.
• Valid and in‑date DCPC and Digital Tachograph card.
• No more than 6 points on licence (minor offences only).
• Full understanding of WTD legislation.
• Excellent communication skills.
• A safety‑first mindset.
