Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Female Personal Assistant to support a 16‑year‑old young woman living at home with her family in Salford. She has a diagnosis of Chromosome 7q11 deletion, epilepsy, and a visual impairment, which affect multiple areas of her development, communication, and daily living. She is a wheelchair user and attends an SEN high school where she receives 1:1 support. She is non‑verbal but engages positively through sensory play. She particularly enjoys music, vibrations, and interactive sensory activities.

Contract Type

Part Time; Permanent.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Supporting with moving and handling and mobility
  • Assisting with personal care, including bathing and dressing
  • Preparing meals and supporting with feeding
  • Supporting with social and sensory activities
  • Administering medication
  • Attending and supporting with health appointments
  • Working closely in partnership with parents to ensure consistent care

Specific Requirements

  • Female applicants only (genuine occupational requirement)
  • Experience working with children or young people with disabilities
  • Experience in moving and handling (preferred)
  • Knowledge of first aid and medication administration (preferred)
  • Physically able to push a wheelchair
  • Patient, caring, and resilient
  • Willing to work collaboratively with family members
