Armed Security Guard

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for an Armed Security Guard located in Portsmouth, VA. The Armed Security Guard will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of assigned facilities and individuals by monitoring access points, responding to security incidents, and performing necessary inspections. The position requires maintaining accurate records, preparing incident reports, and complying with company policies and legal security standards to ensure a safe and secure environment for all stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Experience with security operations, such as access control, incident reporting, and patrol duties
• Ability to operate, control, and secure sensitive or controlled areas
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to remain professional in high-pressure situations
• Knowledge of safety regulations, legal guidelines for security.
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills
• Must possess the necessary certifications for armed security, such as Armed DCJS (075E), and be proficient in weapon handling
• Ability to meet physical requirements of the role, including standing for extended periods and responding to emergencies.
• Prior experience in military, law enforcement, or a security-related role is a plus
• High school diploma or equivalent is required; additional training or certifications in security is advantageous
• Active Security Secret Clearance is preferred
