Operational Technician

Overview

Operational Technician for Leicestershire and Derbyshire. You will be a key member of the Bioresources Operational Team, responsible for operating and maintaining sludge treatment sites, renewable energy generation from biomethane gas and electricity, and the production of high‑quality biosolids.

Key Accountabilities

• Carry out routine tasks associated with the operation and maintenance of allocated Anaerobic Digestion works, including sludge thickening, chemical handling, sampling and analysis, optimisation of processes, and operating SCADA systems.
• Undertake on‑site process sampling and laboratory analysis, making process alterations as required.
• Analyse and optimise the sludge route to drive performance improvements throughout the process.
• Capture process data and support day‑to‑day first‑line maintenance of all assets (RCM).
• Comply with on‑site health & safety regulations.
• Provide standby and call‑out duties as part of a rota‑based system.

• Wanlip and Clay Mills.

Qualifications & Skills

• Experience working with process systems and a good knowledge of hydraulics, mechanics and automation.
• Proficiency with IT systems and SCADA software.
• Experience dealing with household customers and a clear understanding of their needs.
• Strong customer service orientation and problem‑solving skills.
• Capability to implement effective solutions and continuously improve service levels.
