Thinking about September already? Sometimes the best roles are the ones that give you something to look forward to.
We’re working with a welcoming primary school in Bristol looking for a full-time Teaching Assistant to join their Year 4 class from September. This is a brilliant opportunity to start the new academic year in a school where relationships matter, support is genuine, and every child is encouraged to thrive.
You’ll be supporting across the classroom while also working with children who need additional help through small group and 1:1 support. While this isn’t a dedicated 1:1 role, you’ll play a big part in helping children feel confident, included, and ready to learn.
If you’re someone who enjoys variety, values building strong relationships, and loves those moments when a child suddenly says, “I’ve got it!”, keep reading.
What your days could look like:
• Supporting teaching and learning within a busy and engaging Year 4 classroom
• Working with pupils through small group interventions and 1:1 support
• Helping children with additional needs access learning and classroom activities
• Supporting emotional wellbeing and building confidence
• Working alongside teachers and SENCOs to deliver tailored support strategies
• Encouraging positive behaviours and independence
• Recording observations and contributing to pupil progress discussions
• Helping create a classroom where every child feels supported and included
This role could be a great fit if you:
✔ Have experience working with children in schools, SEND settings, or similar environments
✔ Understand the value of patience, consistency, and positive encouragement
✔ Can adapt your approach to suit different learners and personalities
✔ Enjoy working as part of a supportive team
✔ Bring a positive attitude and a good sense of humour, because school life always keeps you on your toes
Why this school?
This is a happy, community-focused school where children and staff are genuinely valued. There’s a strong sense of teamwork, a rich and engaging curriculum, and a culture built around helping children grow academically, socially, and emotionally.
There’s always something going on too, so expect exciting projects, memorable moments, and plenty of reasons why children actually want to come to school.
