Location: James Hawes & Goodchild Funeral Directors – Hackney
Salary: £30,082 to £30,345 per annum
Hours: Full Time – 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Shift: On Call/Out of Hours Rota

The Opportunity
As a Funeral Service Operative you will be the first point of contact for families, providing reassurance and support. Your day-to-day duties will include:
- Driving company vehicles – a full driving licence is required.
- Working in the mortuary: fitting coffins, dressing the deceased and preparing the body for service.
- Participating in funeral services, pallbearing and other ceremonial duties.
- Meeting the practical needs of families and ensuring every service runs smoothly.
- Being part of the on‑call and out‑of‑hours rota, with opportunities to earn additional payments.
With experience you may progress into roles such as Funeral Director, depending on your skills and determination.
