We are recruiting experienced permanent social workers (full and part time) to support people with learning disabilities and/or autism across Lancashire as part of our Learning Disability and Autism team. The role focuses on ensuring that individuals have the opportunity to live as independently as possible, develop positive relationships, secure employment, and enjoy safe, appropriate accommodation.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct holistic, face‑to‑face Care Act assessments, reviews, and support planning.
  • Use a strengths‑based approach to help people achieve their optimum level of independence.
  • Provide ongoing support and facilitate access to services that enable learning disabled or autistic individuals to live good lives, including fostering friendships, employment opportunities, and safe living arrangements.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Must be registered with Social Work England (SWE) or have applied to register.
  • Experience working with people with learning disabilities and/or autism.
  • Understanding of the Care Act and local government services.
  • Compliance with the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 and disclosure requirements from the Disclosure and Barring Service.
