We are working with a leading institutional investment organisation to appoint an Investment Risk Manager into their Financial Risk function. This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly regarded team supporting investment decision-making across a large, sophisticated portfolio.

The Opportunity

This role sits within a second-line risk oversight function, focused on enhancing investment risk analytics and supporting scheme-level decision-making. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality risk insights across a multi-asset portfolio, working closely with senior stakeholders across investment, risk, and governance functions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce and enhance investment risk reporting across market, liquidity, collateral, and counterparty risk
  • Deliver insightful analysis and commentary on risk exposures and drivers
  • Support oversight of investment activities, including asset allocation and liability-driven strategies
  • Contribute to committees and forums, including risk and investment governance groups
  • Assist with the development of reporting automation and data visualisation tools
  • Support ongoing projects to improve risk frameworks and analytics capabilities

Candidate Profile

  • Experience in investment risk, ideally within asset management, pensions, or a relevant financial institution
  • Strong understanding of multi-asset portfolios and risk frameworks
  • Exposure to risk systems such as MSCI RiskManager or BarraOne is advantageous
  • Technical capability with tools such as Python, SQL, or Power BI
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret and communicate complex risk concepts
  • Self-starter with a collaborative approach and strong stakeholder engagement skills
