£25,353 to £26,379 per annum based on a 36.25‑hour contract / pro rata if applicable. Posts are initially offered at the minimum salary point £13.45 per hour, with progression to the higher salary point, £13.99 per hour through annual incremental pay rise.

Building Attendant

About the Role & Team
This role will support the day‑to‑day running of any of our University Sites/buildings, including portering and setting up classrooms and meeting rooms across our campuses to meet customer requirements. You will be the first point of contact for visitors, providing information and assistance where required and will be responsible for locking and unlocking buildings and testing fire alarms. Please note this is a supportive post based at the City Hospital, but with the expectation to support at other campuses on request.
Other duties include the collection and delivery of internal mail, identifying and reporting maintenance issues, inspecting fixtures and fittings, and ensuring that excellent customer service is provided at all times.
About You
It is essential for this role that candidates have experience of working in a similar customer‑facing environment and have some supervisory experience. Ideally, you will also have experience of setting up meeting rooms, knowledge of testing fire and security alarm systems and have cleaning experience gained within a similar environment.
Hours of work are 10 per week, worked mainly Monday and Tuesday between 11.30am and 5pm which includes a ½ hour break. Flexibility will be required.
This post will be offered on a permanent contract for 52 weeks of the year. Arrangements for job share would be considered. Further details regarding the duties for the post can be found on the attached job role profile.

Successful candidates will be expected to attend induction training courses which will run each month, Monday to Friday on University Park Campus. Further details will be given at interview.
