This Geography / History Teacher role offers a full-time, long-term cover opportunity from September 2026 to October 2026. The Geography / History Teacher will deliver engaging humanities lessons across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, and Key Stage 5, supporting students to develop strong subject knowledge, critical thinking skills, and exam confidence. This role is ideal for a confident Geography / History Teacher who enjoys teaching across multiple key stages and is looking for a clearly defined, short-term teaching assignment.
Duties as Geography / History Teacher
- Deliver high-quality Geography and History lessons across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, and Key Stage 5.
- Teach in line with curriculum and examination board specifications.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment.
- Use assessment to monitor progress and inform teaching strategies.
- Provide clear feedback to support student understanding and attainment.
- Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of learners with varying abilities.
- Encourage discussion, enquiry, and critical thinking within humanities subjects.
- Work collaboratively with the humanities department and wider staff team.
- Maintain high expectations for behaviour, effort, and engagement.
- Uphold safeguarding, welfare, and health and safety responsibilities at all times.
Ideal Geography / History Teacher
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- Experience teaching Geography and/or History at secondary level.
- Experience teaching across KS3, KS4, and KS5.
- Strong subject knowledge and understanding of examination requirements.
- Confident classroom and behaviour management skills.
- Ability to engage and motivate students of varying abilities.
- Organised, reliable, and adaptable teaching approach.
- Willingness to commit to the full duration of the cover period.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
