Overview
We are expanding our animal care team by recruiting a full‑time Animal Technician to cover maternity leave within the department. The successful candidate will be passionate about animal welfare and research excellence and will join a vibrant multi‑species, multi‑site team at a leading research university.
Responsibilities
- Take independent responsibility for the welfare of animals in care.
- Contribute to the training of trainee and research staff.
- Advise the research community on welfare requirements and the 3Rs (replacement, reduction, refinement).
- Maintain accurate records and liaise with the Animal Support Unit.
Qualifications
- Holder of the Institute for Animal Technology Level 2 Diploma or equivalent experience.
- Good communication and organisational skills.
- Demonstrated vocational and responsible approach to working with animals.
Work Details
Fixed‑term, 1‑year full‑time post, 36.25 hours per week. Working hours are 36.25 hours per week.
