We are seeking an experienced Engineering Technical Expert to support our Engineering Operations team in improving equipment reliability, resolving complex technical issues, and driving continuous improvement across site.

This is a hands‑on, influential role where you will play a key part in optimising performance, supporting training, and ensuring regulatory compliance in a fast‑paced, highly regulated manufacturing environment.

The Role

  • Lead root cause analysis of equipment downtime to improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness, Mean Time Between Failure, and Mean Time To Repair.
  • Deliver and coordinate technical training programmes for Production Engineering teams.
  • Implement preventative maintenance strategies to improve equipment reliability.
  • Drive a first‑time fix approach to equipment breakdowns.
  • Act as a subject‑matter expert in continuous improvement and total productive maintenance.
  • Manage change control processes and capital expenditure documentation.
  • Support the introduction of new and existing equipment, including training and maintenance planning.
  • Monitor equipment performance, ensuring compliance with regulatory and quality standards while promoting a strong health and safety culture and adherence to lockout/tagout procedures.

The Candidate

  • Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment (pharmaceutical preferred).
  • Apprenticeship or degree in engineering.
  • Strong background in equipment troubleshooting, reliability, and maintenance.
  • Experience with root cause analysis and technical investigations.
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practice and regulatory standards.
  • Ability to train, coach and develop engineering teams.
  • Strong problem‑solving, communication and stakeholder management skills.
