We’re thrilled to introduce Summerhill Avenue, a brand-new residential care home opening in 2025. Nestled in the heart of Newport, Summerhill Avenue will provide high-quality accommodation and support for up to 12 adults with Acquired Brain Injuries and Neurological Conditions. As a new service, we are setting the standard for compassionate, personalized care, and creating an environment where residents can thrive, develop, and lead fulfilling lives.

Job Role: Support Worker

Location: Newport, NP19 8FP

Salary: £13.45 – £14.05 per hour*

About The Role

We are looking for compassionate, dedicated Waking Night Support Workers to join our new team and help us build a community based on care, respect, and empowerment. As a Support Worker, you’ll have the unique opportunity to be a part of something special from the very beginning—helping individuals regain independence and live life to the fullest. Your role will have a direct impact on creating a warm, welcoming environment for residents and their families.

As a Support Worker, you will be involved in the day‑to‑day support and routine of the people within the service including:

  • Support residents in maintaining and developing independence through daily activities and encouraging personal growth.
  • Promote engagement in hobbies, interests, and life skills development, such as budgeting, shopping, and paying bills.
  • Assist with healthcare needs, including accompanying residents to medical appointments and supporting with medication administration.
  • Provide assistance with personal care (depending on individual needs), including help with daily tasks like bathing and dressing.
  • Support with domestic duties, including cleaning and preparing meals to create a comfortable, homely atmosphere.
