Job Description:

Responsibilities

  • Providing operational support to colleagues and Managers by completing a full handover to the oncoming clerks, sharing all relevant information.
  • Answering telephones and responding to queries from stores or Distribution Direct, inputting them onto the online log; completing all reports and sending these to the relevant people.
  • Manning the Goods Out desk, issuing Drivers their assigned work/journey and conducting the pre-brief; completing the de-brief, investigating any route or time discrepancies and escalating issues to the Delivery Service Duty Manager if required.
  • Collating, recording and reporting information as required for a safe, smooth, efficient Delivery Service operation; maintaining all relevant systems so they are accurate and used to their full effectiveness.
  • Liaising with other operational areas of the Distribution Centre, Tesco, Agencies, and 3rd Parties as required.
  • Completing administrative checks and routines in line with operating‑model policies and procedures; maintaining the Tesco‑agreed trackers to track and monitor people information and performance.
  • Providing administrative support by being helpful and friendly in all interactions with colleagues and Managers; feeding back common trends, patterns and concerns to managers; being approachable, confidential, and building trust‑based relationships; being thorough and detailed in everything done; completing admin as required by the Delivery Service Team Managers or Delivery Service Lead Manager so they may focus on more complex tasks; communicating and handing over to the Delivery Service Team Managers and Clerks/Drivers/Shunters.

Employment Requirements

Only individuals who have passed the school leaver’s age may be recruited. Candidates over the age of 18 are required only if the role involves working before 6:15 am or after 9:45 pm or in areas such as the warehouse, beers, wines & spirits, counters, bakery and driving roles.
