We are seeking a Health Care Assistant to join our team at Black Country Family Practice on a full-time basis. This is far more than a traditional support role; you will be a vital member of the nursing and practice team, contributing directly to the delivery of safe, effective, and compassionate patient care while supporting service efficiency and quality improvement.

As part of Modality Partnership, you will benefit from:

  • Minimum 27 days annual leave plus 8 bank holidays (pro rata)
  • Employee discounts and benefits scheme
  • Employee Assistance Programme (EAP)
  • Education and career development pathways
  • Enhanced family-friendly policies
  • Flexible working options

Main duties of the job

This is a hands‑on, patient‑facing clinical support role working closely with the nursing and multidisciplinary team to promote health, prevent illness, and support the ongoing management of patients across the practice.

You will carry out a range of clinical tasks including patient health checks, observations, phlebotomy, urine testing, and ECG recording where trained, supporting both routine and long‑term condition monitoring. The role also involves assisting with vaccination programmes, wound care, suture and staple removal where appropriate, and providing patients with health promotion advice to support self‑care and wellbeing.

You will maintain accurate and timely clinical records, respond to patient queries, and work collaboratively across the practice to ensure smooth, safe, and effective care delivery. Flexibility, professionalism, and a compassionate approach are essential as you support both patients and colleagues in a fast‑paced Primary Care environment.

Strong communication skills, good IT knowledge, and a genuine commitment to patient‑centred care are key to success in this role. In return, you will be supported to develop your clinical skills and progress your career within a forward‑thinking organisation.

If you are ready to make a real difference to patients’ lives, develop your clinical skills, and grow your career within a supportive Primary Care environment, we want to hear from you.
