Job Description

  • Contract Type: Permanent
  • Working Hours: 4 posts available, 37 hours per week on a shift basis. The shift pattern is a 4‑week repeating cycle: 3 weeks of 9am‑5pm, 1 week of 1pm‑9pm Monday to Friday, and 1 Saturday in each 4‑week block of 10am‑6pm with a rest day the following week. An additional 1‑week block in every 12 weeks includes shifts Mon/Tues‑Sat starting at 3pm, 4pm or 5pm. For City Centre duties, the pattern is 2 weeks of 9am‑5pm, 1 week of 3pm, 4pm or 5pm shifts, plus 1 Saturday in 3 weeks.

  • Salary: £32,597 (Level 1) rising to £35,412 per annum (pro‑rata for part‑time)
  • Location: Various sites within the Nottingham City Boundary

About The Role

You will be a key player in delivering a customer‑focused service in the neighbourhoods you cover, ensuring they remain safe, clean and vibrant. You will build meaningful connections with local stakeholders, businesses and residents, becoming a trusted partner in the community. You will apply problem‑solving skills, preventative measures, engagement and education, and step up with enforcement measures when necessary to resolve neighbourhood and public‑realm challenges.

About You

  • Strong communication skills: listening, empathy, and balanced assertiveness with negotiation.
  • Attention to detail and accurate record‑keeping.
  • Hands‑on experience working within communities and an appreciation for participation.
  • Awareness of enforcement tools such as fixed penalty notices, ASB regulations, and relevant laws (Crime and Policing Act 2014, Environmental Protection Act).
  • Required: NPPV (Non‑Police Personal Vetting) and UK residency for the last 3 years.
