Position Details
Position: Site Manager – Location: Exeter, United Kingdom – Salary: Up to £55,000 (dependent on experience) – Day Rate: Up to £250 a day – Working Arrangement: Site based – Employment Type: Permanent or Contract.
Job Overview
A Site Manager is required for a leading drylining contractor to oversee a £3million drylining package on a major £80million student accommodation development in Exeter. The project is expected to run for approximately 2years and forms part of a strong pipeline of upcoming work across the Southwest.
Responsibilities
- Manage day‑to‑day site operations on a large‑scale student accommodation project.
- Coordinate labour, materials, plant, and subcontractors to ensure programme targets are achieved.
- Monitor quality, health & safety, and compliance across all drylining works.
- Maintain site documentation including progress reports, RFIs, variations, and site diaries.
- Liaise closely with the Principal Contractor, consultants, and wider project team.
- Produce short‑term programmes and monitor progress against project milestones.
- Support and mentor site teams while maintaining strong working relationships on site.
Requirements
- NVQ Level 6 in Construction Management or equivalent.
- SMSTS, CSCS Black Card, and First Aid certification.
- Strong drylining experience with excellent technical understanding of systems and specifications.
- Previous experience managing large‑scale construction projects.
- Good understanding of health & safety procedures and site reporting systems.
- Strong communication, organisation, and leadership skills.
- Experience using Microsoft Office and project management software.
