Personal Development Mentor – Brompton Hall School
Are you a hardworking, creative, and knowledgeable professional with a passion for supporting children with SEND? Brompton Hall School is seeking additional members of the Pastoral team to play a vital role in shaping the personal development and welfare of our pupils. As a Personal Development Mentor, you will ensure high‑quality pastoral support for pupils with additional needs, working closely with staff, families, and external agencies. You will also lead personal development initiatives across the whole school to promote well‑being, resilience and positive relationships. This term‑time role is 37 hours per week with a pro‑rata salary of £28,413–£30,867.37 over 39 paid weeks.
Principal Accountabilities
- Promote & safeguard the welfare of all pupils, including Looked After Children
- Use specialist skills and training to support pupils
- Arrange & develop mentoring arrangements & provide support to disengaged/vulnerable pupils
- Undertake comprehensive assessments of pupils to determine those in need of particular help
- Challenge & motivate pupils, promote & reinforce self‑esteem
- Assist in development & implementation of appropriate behavioural support strategies
- Provide administrative support, updating records, and liaising with parents and carers as required
We’re Looking For Someone Who:
- Has experience working with children or young people
- Is patient, resilient, and passionate about supporting young people
- Has NVQ level 3 or equivalent
- Has strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Works well in a team but can also use initiative
- Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils
