Rotational Band Pharmacist Cumberland Infirmary Carlisle (band 6/7 progression post plus EDC)

Applications are invited from pharmacists looking for a new challenge, or those qualifying this year to join our band 6 to 7 pharmacist team.
Our well‑established rotational pharmacist foundation training programme will give you the support you need as you begin your career journey in hospital pharmacy.
You will join the newly qualified pharmacist training programme on starting with us.
Main duties of the job
You will gain a broad wealth of experience in a variety of clinical settings including emergency admissions, respiratory disease, cardiology, stroke, cancer services, surgery as well as dispensary and aseptic services.
You will be supported by an advanced specialist pharmacist in each rotation.
You will progress to a band 7 post following an appropriate training period and competency assessment, which will include studying for a postgraduate diploma in clinical pharmacy practice.
There will be the opportunity to study for a prescribing qualification or other postgraduate qualifications as necessary.
Note that grade offered will be dependent on experience.

Qualifications
- MPharm or equivalent
- Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council
- Postgraduate diploma in clinical pharmacy or equivalent
- Essential IT skills (EITS) or equivalent
Knowledge and Experience
- Broad clinical/pharmaceutical knowledge
- Current issues within pharmacy & the NHS
- Use of Microsoft Office & internet
- Spreadsheet & database packages
- Experience of hospital pharmacy work
- Highly developed communication, negotiation, presentation and interpersonal skills
- Ability to communicate complex information effectively
- Excellent analytical skills, with ability to make judgments on conflicting data using critical appraisal
- Ability to organise and prioritise workload
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to work accurately to deadlines

Other requirements
- Able to travel between sites as required
- Ability to participate in Trust wide out of hour’s on call service
- Ability to participate in 7 day working rota

Salary
£39,959 to £56,515 a year, pro rata.
