With a strong pipeline of work and continued expansion nationwide, this is an exciting opportunity to become part of a technically driven team helping businesses reduce energy costs and improve sustainability through high-performance renewable technologies.Projects span the full lifecycle from surveys and design support through to installation, commissioning, maintenance, and long-term operational support.The RoleWe are looking for an experienced and technically capable Commercial Solar PV Electrician to support commercial Solar PV and battery storage projects across the UK.This is a varied role combining hands-on site work with technical and operational responsibilities. It would suit an experienced electrician who enjoys problem-solving and is looking to progress into a more senior technical or project-focused position.You will be involved in multiple stages of project delivery including surveys, maintenance, fault finding, commissioning, reporting, and ongoing operational support.The role includes regular nationwide travel and occasional overnight stays.Key ResponsibilitiesCarry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on commercial Solar PV systemsPerform electrical inspections, testing, fault finding, and performance diagnosticsDiagnose faults across inverters, AC/DC infrastructure, monitoring systems, and associated equipmentProduce detailed technical reports, maintenance records, and remedial recommendationsSupport pre-construction surveys and technical assessmentsAssist with project planning, mobilisation, and coordination activitiesPrepare Bills of Materials (BOMs) and procurement support documentationSupport DNO applications and grid connection processes including G99/G100 submissionsAssist with commissioning, energisation, testing, and project handoversEnsure all work complies with BS7671, health & safety standards, and industry regulationsInterpret electrical drawings, schematics, and technical documentationWork closely with project managers, subcontractors, suppliers, and clientsIdentify opportunities for system optimisation and performance improvementsTravel to commercial and industrial sites across the UK as requiredEssential RequirementsMinimum 3 years experience within the commercial Solar PV sectorStrong technical knowledge of commercial Solar PV systemsExperience with installation, commissioning, maintenance, and fault findingElectrical testing and inspection experienceGood understanding of commercial inverter systems, monitoring platforms, and AC/DC systemsAbility to interpret electrical schematics and technical drawingsUnderstanding of DNO applications and grid connection processesStrong organisational and communication skillsAbility to work independently and manage multiple projects/sitesWillingness to travel nationwide and stay away when requiredFull UK driving licenceDBS cleared or willing to undergo checksRequired QualificationsNVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation (or equivalent)18th Edition Wiring RegulationsInspection & Testing Qualification (2391, 2394/2395 or equivalent)Solar PV Qualification (City & Guilds, BPEC, EAL or equivalent)Valid ECS CardDesirable ExperienceCommercial rooftop and ground-mounted Solar PV systemsBattery storage systems (BESS)EV charging infrastructureSolar PV monitoring or asset management softwareProject coordination or project management supportCommissioning and long-term O&M deliveryMulti-site commercial project experienceWhats On OfferCompetitive salary packageCompany vehicle or vehicle allowanceAccommodation and expenses covered when working awayOngoing technical training and developmentGenuine career progression opportunitiesOpportunity to work on major commercial renewable energy projects nationwideSupportive, ambitious, and technically focused working environmentCompany uniform and equipment providedWhy Apply?This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing renewable energy contractor at a key stage of expansion. xcswzye Youll work on high-profile commercial renewable energy projects, develop your technical expertise, and play an important role in delivering the UKs transition to sustainable energy infrastructure….
