Job Summary
We are looking for a caring and motivated Support Worker to assist single people and families living in temporary accommodation such as hotels and nightly‑rate properties.
Responsibilities
- Provide face‑to‑face, person‑centred support to customers with a range of needs.
- Help customers access housing, health, wellbeing and community services.
- Support people to attend appointments and work towards agreed goals.
- Contribute to assessments and support plans.
- Build strong working relationships with colleagues and partner organisations.
- Produce and maintain clear, accurate and contemporaneous records in line with organisational standards, recognising that records may be required for safeguarding processes or legal proceedings.
Essential Criteria
- Experience supporting vulnerable people or working in a people‑focused role.
- Empathy, professionalism and strong communication skills.
- Understanding of homelessness and the challenges faced by people living in temporary accommodation.
- A flexible, non‑judgemental and person‑centred approach.
- Good organisational skills and the ability to work at pace across different settings.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for work (Essential Car User with allowance).
Desirable Criteria
- Microsoft Office knowledge.
- Experience recording case notes.
- Experience supporting clients and contacting agencies to set up bills, Universal Credit and Housing Benefit.
