Position

SEN Teaching Assistant at Woodbury School, Wolverhampton.

Overview

We support children and young people aged 7‑18 with complex learning needs, including Social Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) conditions. The role involves assisting students in their educational and social development within a specialist day school setting.

Responsibilities

  • Assist students with their educational and social development.
  • Provide classroom and out-of-classroom support to enable full engagement in a range of activities.
  • Help set up activities for students, using technology or adjusting the environment to suit individual needs.
  • Support teachers by engaging with students, delivering learning support and responding to situations in a positive, non‑disruptive manner.
  • Work one‑to‑one with some students to give them the time and support required for learning.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Experience working with children who have behavioural support needs and a good knowledge of behavioural management techniques and strategies.
  • Grade C or above GCSE in English and Maths, or L1/2 equivalent functional skills qualification.
  • Hold or be willing to work towards a recognised teaching assistant qualification.
