Overview

We are seeking to appoint a term-time only Cover Supervisor to join our outstanding 11-18 school. The Cover Supervisor will cover lessons for short-term teacher absence, working across both the main school and sixth form, and assist with extra-curricular activities. The role operates under the guidance of the Senior Assistant Headteacher and is central to ensuring continuity of learning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver lessons in place of absent teachers across both school sites.
  • Support curriculum delivery and maintain high teaching standards.
  • Assist with pastoral care, guidance, and support programmes.
  • Engage with students to build positive relationships and facilitate learning.
  • Perform administrative duties, including managing deadlines and school paperwork, during non-cover periods.
  • Use Microsoft Office 365; familiarity with Schools Information Management System (SIMS) is advantageous.
  • Participate in professional development and training sessions.

Essential Qualifications

  • 5 GCSEs Grade 5-9 or equivalent, including Maths and English.
  • Excellent numeracy and literacy skills.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Education to A-Level or NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent).

Essential Experience

  • Demonstrated suitability for working with young people.
  • Experience in effective administrative work.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience working in a school environment.
  • Experience delivering lessons to students.
