We are currently supporting their recruitment for an experienced Multi‑Skilled Production Engineer to play a key role in maintaining and improving food production machinery, carrying out both reactive and planned preventative maintenance within a high‑performing engineering team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Maintenance Engineer or Production Engineer from a food manufacturing/FMCG background looking to work within a fast‑paced manufacturing environment focused on continuous improvement, machinery reliability and operational efficiency.
Shift Pattern
- Monday – Friday: 14:00 – 22:00
- Monday – Friday: 22:00 – 06:00

Compensation & Benefits
Highly competitive salary up to £60,000, dependent on experience, plus excellent company benefits.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to breakdowns and faults, diagnosing issues efficiently to minimise downtime
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on production and site equipment
- Support ongoing factory improvement and system upgrade projects
- Identify opportunities to improve machinery reliability and operational efficiency
- Work closely with production teams to ensure optimal machine performance
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and engineering documentation
- Assist with factory‑wide facilities breakdowns and PPM activities
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and reduce ongoing production losses
Production Engineer – Required Skills & Experience
- Multi‑Skilled Engineering background with both Electrical and Mechanical experience
- Previous experience within an FMCG food manufacturing environment is essential
- Strong electrical and mechanical fault‑finding skills
- Experience with food production machinery including conveyors, baggers, weighers, checkweighers, slicers, shakers, robots and associated automated equipment
- Understanding of line control systems including sensors, relays, motors, pneumatics, VFDs and 24V fault‑finding
- Strong commitment to health and safety standards
- Ability to work effectively within a fast‑paced manufacturing environment
- Must hold a recognised Engineering qualification, minimum NVQ Level 3 or Engineering Apprenticeship
Desirable Skills
- Project engineering experience including planning and implementation
- Root cause analysis / 5 Why methodology experience
- Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience
- TIG welding and fabrication skills
- Spares management experience
- 18th Edition qualification
