Day‑to‑Day
Your typical day will involve:
- Conducting detailed energy and environmental modelling using IES VE software
- Collaborating with architects, engineers, and clients to provide expert advice on sustainable design strategies
- Preparing reports and documentation to support compliance with regulations and certifications
- Attending project meetings to influence design decisions and ensure alignment with sustainability goals
- Staying up‑to‑date with industry standards and best practices to deliver innovative solutions
Responsibilities
- Utilise IES VE software to conduct advanced building performance modelling and analysis
- Support the development of Net Zero Carbon and operational energy strategies in line with UKGBC, LETI, RIBA 2030, and local planning requirements
- Assess projects for compliance with Part L, Part O, CIBSE TM52/59, EPCs, CIBSE TM54/NABERS, and Passive House accreditation
- Provide modelling input to support relevant BREEAM credits
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure compliance, performance, and best practices are integrated into design decisions from concept to delivery
Qualifications
- A degree in physical sciences, or an engineering discipline such as physics, mechanical, electrical, building services engineering, environmental, or architectural engineering
- 2‑4 years of experience in a similar role, with a strong understanding of sustainable building design principles
- Proficiency in IES VE software
- A passion for sustainability and a commitment to driving positive change in the built environment
